Maine Industrial Tire announces expansion of Pneumatic Shaped Solid
Tire Line – MITL EcoSolid™

Wakefield, MA – (October 19, 2012) During a time where companies are consolidating their product offerings, Maine Industrial Tire continues to expand its product lines; providing greater options to the market.

‘The market asked for an entry level price point Pneumatic Shaped Solid Tire, and our engineers responded with our latest release; the EcoSolid™” states Jimmy McDonnell, V.P. of Sales.  Its engineered design delivers a lower cost alternative that performs.  The latest design utilizes a multi-stage construction, steel reinforced base to eliminate rim slippage, an aggressive tread pattern  for exceptional traction and includes a visual wear indicator molded into the lug.  We have conducted extensive internal testing against other competitive products, and the EcoSolid™ is well positioned to deliver an increased value over the competition.

The EcoSolid™ is available in Multi-Purpose Black Traction and Grey Non-Marking compounds.  For our European customers, the product is being offered with REACH compliant compounds and Halo construction.  These tires will be produced in both of our manufacturing facilities to offer broader reach to our global customer base.  The complete size offering will be available from our facility in Pennsylvania by early 2013 to respond quickly to our customers’ requirements with “Made in America” tires.

“Maine Industrial Tire already offers a complete line of full sized premium tires; the new EcoSolid™ gives our customers an even greater range of PSS products to choose from” - states Marc Margossian Director of Marketing.

Maine Industrial Tire announces the sale of its China-based pneumatic tire manufacturing assets to Trelleborg Wheel Systems

Wakefield, MA – (February 17, 2011) As part of its global restructuring plan, Maine Industrial Tire LLC (Maine Tire) is announcing the sale of its Hebei, China-based pneumatic tire manufacturing assets to Trelleborg Wheel Systems. Maine Tire will continue to operate and retain ownership over the solid tire portion of the Hebei facility and will have no impact on current solid tire production.

"Although we were continuing to produce pneumatic products under third party brands, the pneumatic business was not core to our long term business strategy. The sale of the pneumatic assets would allow for better alignment of our global resources. Maine Tire will now have a singular focus on its core business – building world-class solid tire products for the conventional forklift, construction and specialty markets," stated Troy Kline, President & C.O.O.

Maine Tire is expanding and optimizing its solid tire production capabilities at the Hebei, China and Red Lion, PA manufacturing facilities, a process that commenced last month with the announcement of the closure of its Gorham, ME manufacturing facility. Maine Tire expects that this transaction and subsequent investment into its facilities will result in a financially stronger and cost competitive company that will better serve its loyal customers.
